ACADEMIC BIO DATA

Valentina Páez is a student of anthropology at the University of Chile. She was born in Los Andes city in 1999 and she lived there until the last year when she arrived to Santiago to study. She decided to study anthropology because she thought that this career gathers many things that she likes, such as history, philosophy and throughout this discipline people can discuss and understand better the contemporary problems about our society. In her free time she likes to paint with watercolours, play guitar and spend time with her friends. She also loves to stay with her pets (but she did not like to call them pets, that sounds like a thing or object), when she goes to Los Andes, hang out in the garden with her friends. When she is tired she watches movies and series, she really can´t live without Netflix. In this moment she is confronting an existential crisis because the next year she has to decide what mention to take because anthropology (in this university) is divided into three areas: social anthropology, archaeology and physical anthropology. In this moment she prefers social anthropology but she is not sure. Well, she still has time to think about that.
